


Drawing and Painting II - College Level (11, 12)
Full Yr., 1 Cr.
Pre-requisite: Drawing and PaintingI. Students will continue to explore drawing and painting as a means of creative expression. Oil painting will be added to the list of materials to be used and oil painting techniques will be featured. All advanced work will be suitable for a personal portfolio especially for college entrance requirements.
Media Arts (9, 10, 11, 12) Full Yr., 1 Cr.
This course may be used to satisfy the Art requirement for graduation. Students in this course follow a rigorous program including extensive hands-on experience. Multimedia presentations are the focus of this course. With the utilization of the computer, students will create desktop presentations incorporating photography, video, animation, graphics, and sound. The
class examines present and future uses of the computer as an interactive partner in education, medicine, research, and enter-
tainment. Students pursuing careers in art, design, advertising, film, communications, mass media, recording, electronics, com-
puter science, and education will benefit from the state-of-the-art multimedia lab and knowledgeable faculty.
Digital Media (10, 11, 12) One Semester, 1/2 Cr.
Pre-requisite: Media Arts or Advertising Design. Digital Media is an advanced level computer course that will build on the knowledge and skills learned in Advertising Design and Media Arts. The curriculum provides students with advanced knowl-
edge and hands-on experiences with still digital imagery and computer graphics. Macintosh computers, along with scanners,
full color printers and digital still cameras are supplied in the state-of-the-art media lab. Students will explore and execute
advanced skills in digital photography and editing software, with the emphasis on ìPhotoshopî. Photographic designs and com-
puter graphic images will be produced in this course. Students pursuing careers in art, design, electronic media, and computer
science will benefit from this curriculum.
