Register for the SAT:

There are two ways to register...

          - Online at www.collegeboard.com - You must create a student account and then follow the instructions to register online. 

          - By Mail - Pick up a paper registration packet outside the guidance office, which must be postmarked by the deadline date.

** NOTE:  Make sure that you include the CEEB/high school code indicated above when you register.  If you do not include this code, the guidance office will not receive a copy of your score report.  If you are a student who receives testing accommodations, please see your counselor prior to registering for the exam.

* Note:  Sachem does not administer the January SAT exam(s).

Important Information for All Test-Takers:

- Refer to your admission ticket for your testing location.  Sachem SAT test administrations take place at Samoset Middle School.

- Plan to arrive at the test center by 7:30 a.m.  Testing begins promptly at 8:00 a.m.

- Make sure to bring:

  • Student ID/Photo Identification
  • Admissions Ticket
  • Number 2 Pencils
  • Calculator (refer to the College Board's Calculator Policy to make sure your calculator is acceptable)

Preparing for the SAT Reasoning Test:

  • Take advantage of review courses available to Sachem students, such as after school prep classes and the Princeton Review course.
  • Use the access code on your PSAT/NMSQT score report to sign in to My College Quickstart.  With this personalized planning kit, you can prepare for the SAT using a study plan based on your PSAT/NMSQT results and explore lists of suggested colleges, majors, and careers.
  • Visit the SAT Preparation Center at www.collegeboard.com to take a free full-length official practice test and get a score and skills report. 
  • Sign up for the Official SAT Question of the Day for daily practice.
  • Pick up a review book from the library or local bookstore to help review.
