· The National PTA says more than 30 years of research has proven that children do better when their parents are involved both at home and in school. Grades are higher and test scores rise.

· If a parent is enthusiastic and interested about school, the child is much more likely to be enthusiastic and interested, too.

· The National Education Association says something similar: "A home environment that encourages learning is more important to student achievement than income, education level or cultural background." Visit their website at:  http://www.nea.org/index.html

· Visit the website for the National PTA at  http://www.pta.org/

· School Safety—visit this site at the National Safety Council for helpful tips.
