Welcome to the Hiawatha Elementary School web page! The Hiawatha community of students, faculty, staff, and parents are committed to enriching and advancing the educational and life experiences of all members of our learning community. Collectively we will work to ensure that all participants take an active role in the educational process.

Just as important as academic excellence, a strong emphasis is placed on citizenship and character development. Using researched best practices as our guide, we seek to provide our students with an inclusive program of study that is suited for their individual needs. Through differentiated instructional methods, coupled with our staff's continuous enrichment of their own knowledge base, we strive to ensure that each child's potential is met.

The Hiawatha community is enhanced through the partnership of our faculty, staff, students and parents. We hope you will visit often and participate in the many activities that the school and PTA provide for our children. Please feel free to call and speak to any one of our dedicated faculty or staff members, join the PTA, and volunteer your time where possible. We know that your involvement combined with the efforts of an outstanding faculty and staff, will make this school year a rewarding experience for the children of the Hiawatha community.
