Mission Statement:
  The mission of the Family and Consumer Sciences Department is to prepare individuals to be competent, confident and caring in managing their personal, family and career lives. The courses offered through the Family and Consumer Sciences Department will contribute to the development of skills closely related to success in many areas of employment, including the food industry, fashion design and merchandising, interior decorating and early childhood education. Our courses are aligned with the New York State Learning Standards for personal health and fitness, a safe and healthy environment and resource management.

  It is the goal of the Family and Consumer Sciences Department to provide our students with the tools to become self-sufficient through relevant and practical life lessons. Our students are able to develop lifetime skills needed to meet the challenges of a changing world.
