Library Policies

-Students may borrow one book each week from the library.

-Beginning each October, 4 th and 5 th grade students have the option to borrow a second book if they wish to do so.

-All books must return to the library with the student each week.

-A book may be renewed as many times as the student wishes, but still must be brought to library class each week to be re-scanned. If a book is not brought in and re-scanned, it will be considered overdue, not renewed.

-5 th grade only - the first library day of each week will be book checkout day. All books are expected to be returned/ renewed on this day. The second library day of the week will be used for lessons and projects.

-Every student will begin each new marking period with zero checks for a fresh start.

PIE Awards- (grades 3-5)

-A student will receive one check each week any items are overdue. Only one check per week will be given regardless of number of items due.

-A student receiving three checks in any 10 week marking period will not be eligible for a PIE award as per committee policy.

-All students will be provided an opportunity to show extra effort. Any book review submitted of quality work that can be displayed on ‘Rave Reviews’ will cancel one check. Only one check per marking period may be eliminated through Rave Reviews.
