Keep reviewing those facts nightly by studying flash cards and timing your child 2 minutes on their fact HW.  Please make sure math tests are returned and signed and please review ALL HW worksheets nightly.  For fact practice time, check and sign. Please review the concepts below in order to keep you posted on the math concepts presented in class.    Please practice telling time to the 5 minutes and adding 3 digit numbers!

We will be starting snowman stories soon, which will focus on revising and adding more details to our written work.

Our spelling words are linked to our fundations units being taught weekly.   Each spelling list will have 10 words they can tap out and mark up.  The rest of the words will be trick words or high frequency words.  Trick words are usually tougher for the children because they can’t tap them out or mark them up. Practice handwriting and staying in the lines at home too.

We have discussed the four types of precipitation (rain, snow, sleet and hail) and the phases of water (solid, liquid and gas)  We are just getting into the types of clouds.  Please allow your child to watch some weather reports during this month!

“What do I do when my child is reading to me at home and gets stuck?” I hear this question all the time Follow these links to find strategies to remind your child to use. Don’t just tell them the word immediately. It’s best to help them figure out what it says and then make sure they know what the word means in the sentence they are reading.
