Parents As Reading Partners |

Parents as Reading Partners (PARP) was a great success in March 2011! PARP is a statewide reading program geared towards encouraging children to read at home with their parents, guardians, grandparents, or siblings. Cayuga’s PARP theme last year was integrated with an emergency relief fund for the victims of the devastating earthquake in Japan on March 11, 2011. Students had sponsors donate money for the amount of minutes that were spent reading with their parents and/or guardians. Cayuga raised over $6800.00 towards the Japan Relief Fund. Mr. Wells presented the large check to the Suffolk County American Red Cross. It was a proud day for Cayuga!! PARP is a motivating and exciting experience for students to share with their families!
