Seasonal Activities |
Try taking your camera with you when you go out in the fall. Record your visits. What catches your eye? When you get your picture back, lay them all out, arrange them in different ways and see what story they tell. Try adding captions or writing your own story from the pictures! |
Encourage your child to create their own neighborhood newspaper! This is an engaging activity for all ages. |
Don’t let your kids forget all that they’ve learned from reading! Make learning an engaging and motivating part of your everyday routine. |
Keep Reading! |
GREAT IDEAS! |

Take your camera for a walk. |
Read All About it! |

Explore and Write About Nature |
Create Comics and Cartoons |
Go outside and take a walk, explore your own backyard, or try out a local park or nature preserve. Take along a notepad to record your observations. You could even keep a Nature Journal of your explorations! |
In our primary and intermediate grades, we talk about how speech and thought bubbles are a part of reading too. Work together with your child to create their very own comic strip. |

Start a Book Club |

Read a book together as a family or within a group of friends. When you finish, spend time talking about the book. Share your favorite parts, personal connections, and what you noticed while reading.

Make Earth Day Everyday! |
Learn about recycling and keeping our Earth healthy. Start small by separating your plastic and paper recyclables from the rest of the trash. Maybe take a book out from the library to learn more! |
