Get a new writer’s notebook for the summer and bring it wherever you go! Remember Amelia’s Notebook, you can do the same thing!  Write, write and write some more, because when your done, you have just begun!  Revisit sight words an writing topics below.  Also check out the wonderful writing websites on the Summer Page!

Spelling and writing in cursive is very important for 3rd grade.  Revisit our spelling patterns below.  Remember to practice your cursive, there is a great website on the Summer page with practice cursive worksheets!

Since you learned so much in second grade, use that knowledge over the summer.  Observe the moon, study the weather, research the scientific process!  Also, check out the wonderful science websites on the Summer Page

 Just because school is over doesn’t mean we can’t keep reading books.  Visit your library, read at the beach, read on a plane, read in the pool, read wherever you can!  Remember to write reader’s responses or retells after you read a book.  Revisit reading ideas and strategies below for extra practice.  Also, Check out the wonderful reading websites on the Summer Page!
