Students at Sachem High School East continue their long-standing tradition of exchanging letters with pen pals at Collège Privé Jean Yole in Les Herbiers, France, which connects students through the use of a world language. 

Les Herbiers is a city in the western part of France in the Loire region. Each year, freshman French students at High School East are assigned a pen pal and consistently exchange letters throughout the yearlong class. 

These new relationships allow students to create meaningful connections to the French language.
