At the Feb.13 meeting of the Sachem Central School District Board of Education, several athletic teams were recognized for their extraordinary accomplishments during the fall season. 

Beginning the recognitions, the Sachem East girls cross-country team was honored for its incredible season where it was named division champions, Suffolk County champions and a Scholar Athlete team. Next, the Sachem East girls field hockey team was recognized for its outstanding undefeated season in which it won the Section 11 championship, a Long Island championship and made an appearance in the New York State tournament. 

Continuing the recognitions, the Sachem North boys volleyball team was recognized for its incredible achievements this season as it was named the Section 11 champions, won the Long Island championship and finished second at the New York State tournament. 

Concluding the recognitions, 14 student-athletes were honored for their individual accomplishments in academics and sports, being named All-County, All-State or All-American athletes.
