Fifth grade students from Tamarac Elementary School recently created a Civil War wax museum displaying several prominent figures from this important period in American history.

During the monthlong project, students chose and researched an important person from the Civil War era and created posters and reports explaining key details about their selected historical figure. Among the people researched were Clara Barton, Mathew Brady, Stonewall Jackson, Abraham Lincoln, Harriet Beecher Stowe and Harriet Tubman.

Concluding their project, students dressed as their selected historical figure and stood frozen in the hallway as a visual representation of this time period. Students and staff from throughout the building viewed the students’ incredible work as they walked throughout the wax museum.
