Students in Tracy Walter’s and Carol Karson’s second grade classes at Hiawatha Elementary School recently concluded a unit on habitats by creating their own habitat dioramas.

Students used scientific methods to study animal habitats, researching a specific animal and the habitat in which it lives, including plant life and other natural elements around it, before creating and presenting their dioramas and reports to their peers.
