During a recent exploration of famous artists, third grade students at Waverly Avenue Elementary School in Susan Kinsey’s art class participated in a lesson where they took inspiration from artist Henri Rousseau to create their own paintings.

Using Rousseau’s painting “Tiger in a Tropical Storm” as inspiration, students utilized paper painted with tempera paint in a gradient, oil pastels and construction paper as part of their creative works of art.
