At the most recent meeting of the Sachem Central School District Board of Education, the Board recognized six outstanding student-athletes for their exemplary efforts both in the classroom and on the athletic field.

Among the students recognized for their accomplishments were Sachem North junior Grace Calabria for being named Newsday All-Long Island First Team in cheerleading; Sachem North junior Emily Kulkarni for being named to the Newsday All-Long Island Team in bowling; Sachem North senior Cameron Lee for receiving the News 12 Scholar Athlete Award for his performance in football, wrestling and lacrosse; Sachem North senior Jenna LoCascio for being named to the Newsday All-Long Island Second Team in cheerleading; Sachem East senior Briella Russo for receiving Newsday All-Long Island Second Team recognition in cheerleading and Sachem East junior Nick Walker for being named Newsday Athlete of the Week and to the Newsday All-Long Island Team in bowling.
