            At the February 9^th meeting of our Board of Education, the school calendar for the 2006-07 school year was approved.  We hope in providing this well in advance will help your family plan accordingly for the 2006-07 school year.

            For your information, the Board of Education is considering a change in school hours for next year.  The proposal calls for the school hours to be as follows:

                 High Schools:                      Zero Period                  7:00 a.m.

                                                                                                7:47 a.m. – 2:07 p.m.

                 Middle Schools                   Zero Period                  7:53 a.m.

                                                                                                8:38 a.m. – 2:58 p.m.

                 Elementary Schools Grundy, Hiawatha         8:55 a.m. – 2:55 p.m.

                                                            Nokomis, Tecumseh

                                                            Tamarac, Wenonah,

                                                            Gatelot, Cayuga,           9:30 am. – 3:30 p.m.

                                                            Waverly, Merrimac,

                                                            Lynwood, Chippewa

            These revised school times, as well as a few minor additional changes, will allow

enough flexibility to route our buses district-wide in a timely manner while also saving the taxpayers $500,000.
