There are approximately 1,300 teachers currently employed by the district
in various certification areas.
The New York State Education Department specifies the
certification required by teachers. It is incumbent upon each
teacher to keep their certification current and to ensure that they are
meeting the requirements for professional development. This is not
the responsibility of the district. The links on this page will
provide you with information from NYSED regarding certification and the
district log for professional development. All teachers currently
employed by the district are required to complete professional day request
forms for any full day conferences, workshops, or training at least three
weeks in advance.
Any teacher interested in working for the district must
create an account through our on-line service. It is incumbent upon
you to remember your user name and password; the district can not create
records of this. It is possible you will have to recreate your
account if you lose this information. Please note that the
district will not accept emails, faxes or paper resumes due to the
volume of applicants.
Substitute teaching is a good way for new teachers to
get experience while looking for full time employment. If you
are interested in substitute work, please make sure you indicate this when
you complete your on-line application.
