Renter in Apartment Complex – Lease must be signed by both you and the complex. It must also be current at the time of registration, which may include a renewal rider. The registration date cannot be before move-in date
Living in a Private Home – Anyone who lives in a privately owned house that he/she does not own must submit an Affidavit of Residence. This category includes those who are renting an entire privately-owned house, condo, trailer or co-op or renting a room or apartment in a privately-owned house, condo, trailer or co-op or renting a room or apartment in a . This category also includes he/she who lives in a privately owned house, condo, trailer or co-op that he/she does not own, but is not considered a tenant as he/she does not pay rent. The affidavit must have both signatures notarized and requires the owner to provide proof of ownership in the form of this month’s mortgage statement or this year’s town tax bill. Both documents must be presented to Central Registration. Affidavits can be obtained at all schools or obtained from the website, www.sachem.edu. Please call our office if you need it mailed or faxed to you. The registration date cannot be before the move-in date.
