Beginning February 1, 2013, all children who will be 5 years old on or before December 1, 2013 are eligible to register for Sachem’s 2013-2014 full day kindergarten program. Registrations will be held at the Central Registration Office, Monday – Friday, on a walk-in basis from 8:00 am – 2:00 pm. Although school may be closed, our office is open March 25th, 26th, 27th and 28th. We will, however, only be open from 8:00am - 1:00pm on days the schools are closed. It is not necessary for your child to be with you at the registration as it only involves paperwork. In order for your child to be included in the Orientations, we ask that you make every effort to register before May 3rd as Orientations will be held at each elementary school between May 6th and May 10th and screenings will be held the week of June 10th. Children who have not registered by the orientation and/or screening dates will not be allowed to attend the orientations and/or screenings. Please feel free to share this information with your friends, relatives and neighbors so we can have as many children registered as possible before the end of the school year. Also, any student currently enrolled in our UPK program will be receiving information on the procedure for updating the registration through the mail. It is not necessary for UPK parents to come into our office to register. If your child receives pre-school services, you will still need to register for kindergarten. All registration information, including the residency affidavit can be obtained on the website, www.sachem.edu, then click on Departments and click on Central Registration..
IMPORTANT NOTE: All the following documents must be presented at the time of registration. We cannot accept any incomplete registrations and failure to provide the proper documents will result in having to return to our office a second time to complete the registration.
