The Sachem North boys winter track team took to the frigid Lake Ronkonkoma streets during the first Saturday of their season in their 14th annual Run for Hunger to help support the Sachem North Thanksgiving Food Drive. The boys ran from Sachem North to Stop & Shop with money they raised to purchase items to aid the already bountiful efforts put forth for the school’s food drive.

Led by seniors Dan Audia, Pat Clancy, Jake Fitzgerald, Kevin McMahon, Anthony Mileti, Pat Morales, Faisel Sadar, Devin Snow and Ian Wollman, the team bundled up and ran the unusual workout.

“Today is not about training; it is about giving back,” Clancy said.

Sadar echoed the sentiment. “We are very fortunate in many aspects of our lives, and helping our team support our school community is a great way to kick off the season,” he said.

“The run was not very far, but that is not the point,” Wollman added. “It is a great way to come together as a team for an incredible cause.”

The North boys track team is coached by Vin Juliano, Bryan Rogers and Joe Zarzycki.
