There is nothing like a big victory on homecoming. Sachem East football beat Patchogue-Medford, 27-0, to cap off a spirited week of pride and fun on Saturday, Oct. 20.
Adriel Robinson led Sachem with 159 rushing yards and two touchdowns, while Ryan Paoella had 71 rushing yards and two touchdowns.
Led by the efforts of Student Government and Class Government, Sachem East had a number of themes during spirit week, from TV Tuesday to Sachem spirit day. Sachem East invited its peers from Sachem North for a school showdown one evening, where they competed in various spirited contests, from pie eating to tug-of-war.
Later in the week the school celebrated with a pep rally and crowned homecoming royalty. Senior royalty included Thomas Syron (king), Miranda Seeley (queen) and Ian Limjoco (jester). Joshua Mileto was named honorary homecoming king. Junior royalty included Michael Efron (prince), Kristen Shanahan (princess) and Nicholas Addamo (jester). Sophomore royalty included James Walsh (duke), Julia Luchetti (duchess) and Nicholas Grottola (jester). Freshman royalty included Asweel Mehaboob (count), Gabriella Erdmann (countess) and Patrick Bell (jester).
The weekend began with a newly minted homecoming carnival and, of course, ended with a win on the gridiron.
